Wedding Tree

Naperville, IL

June 2021 I received this e-mail: “I was given your company/names from Mike, the director of ground over here at North Central College, where I am an employee. There is a tree that my wife and I got married under that is on the campus and Mike has informed me that the tree needs to come down. I have an interest in “keeping” enough of the tree to have a dinner table made out of it. I do not have any sort of idea where to start, but he suggested you guys. Hope to hear from you about this process, thank you!”
Brad and his wife are folks busy with building careers and a family. We were able to correspond and design the desired table for him and his wife via e-mail and phone calls.
We received the logs in July, 2021 and delivered the table in August, 2022. Brad and his wife wanted a trestle-style table with a 4” thick top. The logs came in and we first had to have a general idea of what they wanted to create the cut list for the mill. The back-and-forth takes a while, but we know getting the end product that our clients want is the most important thing. Once we had the concept the milling was completed and the lumber was ready for the kiln.
Our shop was able to design a thick-top table and base and provide samples of stain while the wood was drying in our kilns. The table was completed in March of 2022.

The Problem:
A beautiful tree under which Brad and Spencer were married needed to come down and they wanted to create a dining table from it. Their busy schedules left little time for this big process.

The Solution:
We were able to correspond via photos, drawings, samples, e-mails and phone calls to get the job done to their specifications.
